View Full Version : High Blood Pressue and ED Meds Discussion
I have not been diagnosed with HBP. At least locally, they changed the good BP range to 110/70. It used to be 120/80. I have always run 130'ish/90'ish. So with the new guideline, my normal BP was in the high borderline range.
So I take a very mild and low dose HBP medication on a daily basis. I know the information is out there, and probably already discussed here, but does anyone have any first hand info or recommendation on what generic ED drugs I could still use.
I understand nobody here is a doctor and none of the advise is 100% reliable. I would like to start my research off with some first hand info.
I previously used generic levitra from a canadian pharmacy. I never did get that rock hard 100% hard result from it.

I have HBP and take meds for it, and I use the generic V without issue. It actually helps lower the BP from time to time.
I get good results with the real Levitra, better than V and C. I've been adding an asprin with it too.

Yes, from what I understand, the medicine in ED Drugs also lowers blood pressure. I guess the biggest concern would be a dangerous low blood pressure after the HBP and ED medicine take effect?

Interesting as generic Levitra isn't doing much for me.

We have a male clinic here in Los Angeles, it has several offices throughout the US which treats ED even if you have high blood pressure. Google Trimix. I have high bp got a prescription for trimix, cost about the same as real v or c, which no longer works for me due to hb. One thing I'll warn you about, it is a direct injection (using a preset applicator) to the penis. If the applicator is set correctly and good quality needles are used the shot is painless (except for the thought). Trimix has been used for years, supposedly safer than most other ED meds.
The quality of the erection which is adjusted by dosage, by the specialist DR. is to say the least incredible, everytime without fail, works in less than 10 minutes, rock hard for up to 2 hours. PM me if you want the name of the clinic.

If it is a Nitrate of any sort, none of the Ed drugs, generic or otherwise, are recommended. I'm on Metropolol ER and it is OK to use with any of the ED Meds.
I've developed a sensitivity to the three ED meds and don't like the side effects. I'm using an injectible medication, similar to the Trimix mentioned in the previous post, and have great results with no side effects. Unless you consider staying hard for an hour after you're totally worn out to be a side effect.
Just startred taking two meds for High BP last week. Lisinopril and Amlodipine Besylate. Went to pleasure a hot blonde today and for the first time in my life I only got semi hard. I'm only 42 and the BP is very mild. Is there some other BP meds anyone takes that works with out this side effect or do I have to get the ED drugs. My blonde didn't mind but my tongue and fingers are sure sore now. Just want to know what meds to talk to Doc about. Or possibly is there any herbal aids that lower BP that I could get by with? G
My experience is that the BP drugs do in fact tend to affect erections, since BP is being lowered across the system. This is a good excuse to ask your doctor for a prescription for ED drugs, which might be covered by your insurance that way, to re-focus that drop in blood pressure to where you need it, if you get lucky.

I take enalapril, norvasc and prevastatin and don't need ED meds although they are fun to have. Took me a year to get the right recipe to control BP and still get wood. I'm no longer 19 if you know what I mean, but the stuff the doctors try first is bad.
Hope this helps someone.

I previously used generic levitra from a canadian pharmacy. I never did get that rock hard 100% hard result from it.I'm not a DR. But, I see mine pretty regularly because of my HBP. Mine was running 160/105 range. It had been for years, hell I never thought anything about it. He put me on several of the meds mentioned here, but they made me feel like crap. We finally found one that holds mine around where you were running without meds. If the meds are causing a problem with ED, I would talk with him about a possible change in diet (especially the salt ). Possibly a little activity, like walking or something for 30 min a day, and doing away with the meds. If I could I would. My meds have slowed me down a little, but thank goodness she still gets hard when it needs to, LOL. The problem I have, is the energy level I have now as opposed to a couple years ago. It will still get hard, I'm just too tired to do anything with it, LOL!

Let me see if I can get this right. My friend is not a member, but he likes to look at my computer to read the site. Here it is as he has asked and told me.
He has been taking the BP Diovan too, and he has a Prescription for 100mg Viagra which he cuts in half to use at 50mg. He says it works for him. He is in his 50's, considered a few lbs overweight, but is good health. No real other problems.
His issue is / was the times he has used 100mg Viagra, it has worked less effective than cutting the pill in half. He said that using 100mg, stops his nose up, and he his to take nose spray to unstop it. I told him it may be the nose spray. He is using a Generic Nose spray from Walgreen or Family Dollar.
He is saying that he gets a better result from using a lower dose than from a higher dose, and he is puzzled as to Why. He will be reading your reply via my computer, because I have to bring him into the Digital World, slowly but surely. He is willing but just slow about it.
Plus he want to know is any of the ED medications really any better than any other. I told him that question had to already be asked, but we could not find it in the previous post posted.
Thanks For Your Response!
.he gets a better result from using a lower dose than from a higher dose, and he is puzzled as to Why.Exposing the inside of a pill by cutting it in half may cause a higher percentage to be absorbed into his bloodstream. Tell him to try chewing a half pill.

I am taking 2 HBP losartin and amlodpine.
I am also taking a urinary tract relaxer, Doc, says no sex side effects.
But the first warning on the list was sexual disfunction. But here is the odd thing.
It also has a warning about the 4 hour hard on. Get to a doc.
Now I take all this before bed. And dam if I don't fall asleep with some of the finest wood.
And wake up with great wood too. Some times it even wakes me up.
WTF is going on here.

GI have been on Lisinopril about 1 month. Went to meet a young lady who is as hot as any woman I have been with. I got it up OK, mostly due to how hot she is because with regular partners (plain janes) I sometimes had weak wood. Of course this being a business arrangement a condom was required, which I am not used to. She came twice, I never did even after removing the condom and trying manually. I gave up and went home. Was feeling a bit raw from the condom so I waited a day or two and tried masturbating, only got medium wood and expected to cum quickly but it took almost 30 minutes to ejaculate. I am beginning to think the BP med is causing this, especially the delayed ejaculation. I have been on anti-depressants for years and had no ejaculatory issues. Am I likely experiencing this fro the BP med?

Conversely, don't entirely skip your Lisinopril if it has been nearly 24 hours since your last dose as your blood vessels are used to the ACE inhibitor to help dialate them including your dick. I'd take 1/3 a dose of Lisinopril, have sex, and then afterwards take the rest of the tablet before I go to bed. One thing I did notice is being on Lisinopril seems to reduce the effectiveness of Viagra, with 25mg no longer doing the trick and me needing 50 now. Plus afterwards my dick goes down all the way as before it was soft but still long with some blood left in it for about 4 hours.
